5 Healthy Fruits For On The Go

None of us can live without snacks. Whether just to fill the tummy while on the go, or to keep our metabolism active, snacks are a vital part of our daily diet. If we understand fruits properly and the best options to go for then fruits can form an integral part of our daily intake. This week let us take a closer look at healthy fruit options for during the day to snack on.

Grapefruits has always been one of my absolute favourites. Not only very high in Vitamin C and good quality minerals, but it is also known for its ability to aid in weightloss, as well as helping as a natural diuretic and reducing insulin resistance.

Pineapple is another fantastic fruit. It does wonders for those sugar cravings, and is once again high in Vitamin C. Pineapples furthermore contain Bromelain, a mixture of enzymes known for its anti inflammatory properties and ability to digest protein. Pineapple is smaller quantities is excellent for the body. One word of warning, try not over do the pineapple as the acidity is bound to give you a sore tongue.

Avocado is different to most other fruits. Other fruits are high in carbs. while avocados re low in carbs and comprised mostly of good quality fats. Avocados are made up of high amounts of oleic acid which is linked to reduced inflammation and better heart health. Good quality fats also aid with satiety helping us feel fuller for longer which means we do not crave other things in between meals. Avocados are also high in Potassium, fiber and Magnesium.

Blueberries are one of my go to fruits being extremely high in antioxidants, higher then virtually any other fruit. This means that blueberries are excellent immune boosting fruits. They also have an extremely strong nutritional profile being particularly high in fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K ad Manganese. Not to mention how amazing they are for the sugar craving.

Apples are a simple and common fruit and also happen to be incredibly nutritious. They contain high fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Vitamin K, and a certain amount of Vitamin B. Apples also contain Pectin which feeds the good bacteria in your stomach and helps improve digestion and gut health.

As with all food types, everything must be done in moderation. We simply cant eat fruit all day and expect to be fully healthy. However, used in moderation for snacks and in small mounts, these fruits can be massively beneficial to your body and all round health. Have a wonderful week ladies!
